Ravar
The name Ravar is used to describe two types of rugs. The first type are rugs woven in the town
of Ravar, located in northeast of Kerman, which produces rugs mainly in the Kerman style. One
special Ravar design is called the 'thousand flower.' As its name implies, flowers cover the entire
field of the rug. The name Ravar or Lavar (a corrupted version of Ravar used in the west) is also
used to describe the highest quality rugs made in and around Kerman, whether or not actually
made in the town of Ravar itself.
